Our Company Mission

To assist firefighters in protecting lives and property by providing the best “One-Stop-Shop” in Delaware and Maryland for complete emergency vehicle sales, certified service, and custom fabrication.
It is our vision that all fire and emergency apparatus owned and operated in Delaware and Maryland will meet NFPA, ISO, and DOT recommendations and requirements.

OUR CAPABILITIES

  • Provide bumper-to-bumper warranty service on all fire apparatus and ambulances that we sell.
  • Authorized Service & Warranty Center for Spartan Chassis, PL Custom, Detroit Diesel, Allison, Hale, and Waterous.
  • Perform warranty work for Spartan and Freightliner chassis on any make/model of emergency vehicle.
  • Perform complete fire pump preventive maintenance program; pump repair, overhaul, installation;and NFPA pump testing.
  • Perform complete engine and transmission preventive maintenance programs, mechanical and electrical repairs, and D.O.T. inspection.
  • Perform complete aerial / ladder service & repairs and offer UL performed aerial / ladder testing.
  • Perform custom fabrication of brush trucks, skid units, and SUV conversions for EMS vehicles.
  • Perform chassis and body fabrication, modification, and refurbishing.
  • Sell accessory items associated with emergency apparatus (i.e. lights, sirens, etc.).
  • Provide vehicle pick-up and delivery service by commercially licensed driver.
  • Extensive line of parts and loose equipment.re pump preventive maintenance program; pump repair, overhaul, installation;and NFPA pump testing.

Meet Our Team

Principals

Rick J. Jr. & Tina Strauss
President, Treasurer / Secretary
Richard J. Strauss, Jr. President (Rick) - Rick is the President and owner. He is a volunteer firefighter, maintains a Class B Commercial Drivers License, and has attended Hale, Waterous, and Godive pump schools. Additionally, Rick has MIG and TIG welding training and is a certified Emergency Vehicle Technician. Rick is a currently part of the PL Custom Dealer Advisory Group Tina M Strauss -Secretary Tina is the Secretary and owner. She is a graduate of Goldey Beacon College and rejoined the daily operations of DPC recently
    Ann and Rich Strauss
    Founders
    Ann and Rich Strauss - Ann and Rich the Founders of DPC Emergency Equipment have retired completely and the move of DPC ownership to Rick and Tina has been completed as of Sept 30, 2017.

      Management Teams

      Mike Heston
      Sales Manager
      Mike joined DPC in 2013. He brings 40 plus years of fire service / industry experience with him. Mike started his career as a Volunteer Firefighter in 1974. He has worked for a major manufacturer & owned his own fire equipment dealership. His solid understanding of the industry coupled with his passion for the business makes him a perfect fit at DPC. Mike was Co-Chair of the NFPA 1912 Committee and a 911 First Responder.
      Kelsey Pardee
      Office Manager
      Kelsey has been with DPC since 2003 and has over 14 years of experience in Office Administration. She previously worked in the banking industry for 13 years where she obtained financial experience as a mortgage lender and client service representative. Kelsey originally comes from the state of North Dakota and now resides in Harrington DE with her husband.
      Adam Jarrell
      Sales Coordinator
      Adam has been a part of the DPC team since April 2007 and has over 15 years of service in Fire/EMS. Currently he serves as Chief Engineer with the Felton Community Fire Company. Adam resides in the Felton area with his wife and two sons.
      Jeff Wallace
      Operations Manager/ Special Projects
      Jeff joined the DPC Team in October 2017. Jeff brings 14 years of experience from the Logistics and Car Care Industries where he served in the roles of Operations Manager and General Manager. Jeff and his family currently reside in Middletown.

        Jimmy Bell
        Fabrication Manager
        Jimmy has been with DPC since 2000. He has over 20 years of fabrication experience. He is AWS Qualified D1.1, D1.2, D1.3, & D1.4. Preference is aluminum TIG. His passion is designing, fabricating and harnessing custom items. Always trying new ideas, making things that work well and are aesthetically pleasing. In his spare time, Jimmy is a volunteer baseball coach for local little league as well as travel baseball. [email protected]

        Technician
        Mike is an ASE certified Medium/Heavy Truck Technician with over 30 years experience in heavy truck service and repair. He has attended Hale and Waterous Pump Schools, American LaFrance, Freightliner, Detroit Diesel, Cummins and Allison training. He also maintains a Class B Commercial Drivers License. Mike was also named “Medium/Heavy Truck Technician of the Year” by ASE for 2009.
        Jimmy Price
        Technician
        Jimmy joined DPC in July 2014 bringing with him over 10 years experience as a Emergency Vehicle Technician. He is ASE Certified Master Truck Tech and EVT Level II. Jimmy has been a volunteer fire fighter for 27 years and has served as chief for the last 8 years.
