Wildland Urban Interface

BUILT TO SPEC. BUILT TO LAST. DUAL-PURPOSE BUILT

When your challenge is the environment, Spartan’s Wildland Urban Interface Engine comes to the rescue with a hybrid of a traditional pumper and wildland vehicle. The result is a two-in-one apparatus that gives you the versatility and flexibility you need to move from tight city streets to rugged woodland and rural terrain.
The Spartan WUI Series can provide fire suppression, emergency medical services, technical rescue, hazardous materials mitigation and other mission-critical requirements. Now, there’s no need to purchase and train on two pieces of equipment because this unique apparatus serves both urban and rural communities in one innovative vehicle.

SAFETY INNOVATIONS

Protects like no other with the Industry's #1 Rated Safety System Spartan Advanced Protection System Outboard Sensors Protects all occupants from side impact collisions, rollovers and occupant ejection. The only company in the industry whose airbags protect cab occupants from side impacts. Side impact protection Detects multi-angle impacts allowing faster deployment of airbags with sensors mounted on the outer perimeter of the cab. Driver knee airbags Protects against injuries resulting from hitting the instrument panel or other interior points of contact. Locks the lower body in place so the upper body can be slowed and protected by the steering wheel airbag. Full side curtain airbags Protects from a side impact or a rollover with airbags up to three times larger than other manufacturers. Each rear side airbag is custom-sized for the crew area of every cab built, with the largest rear side airbag covering seven times the area of any other manufacturer. Advanced Seatbelts Pulls the occupant into the seat in the event of an impact, or rollover using pyrotechnic pretensioners that provide more force during the initial lock. After the occupant is pulled into the seat, load limiters release some of the webbing to control the occupant’s deceleration into the airbag system, helping to mitigate the strain on each occupant, further reducing seatbelt-related injuries. With a reputation for spacious, secure, and well-designed cabs, Spartan now adds the industry’s best HVAC system to its cab offerings — creating a safer and more comfortable environment for Fire Fighters working in any kind of climate. Advanced Climate Control Aggressively cools and heats cab interior
Distributes air volume evenly to all occupants
Defrosts/Defogs quickly and effectively clears Flash Fogging
Quickly and effectively evacuates condensate
Designed for easy service and maintenance
State-of-the-art outboard sensors protect occupants from multi-angle impacts in the cab. These sensors are mounted at the outer perimeter of the cab providing a “zone of safety” inside the cab. Each sensor communicates back to the restraint control module that monitors which airbag should deploy and under what conditions. Industry-First Outboard Sensors Pulls the occupant into the seat in the event of an impact, or rollover using pyrotechnic pretensioners that provide more force during the initial lock. After the occupant is pulled into the seat, load limiters release some of the webbing to control the occupant’s deceleration into the airbag system, helping to mitigate the strain on each occupant, further reducing seatbelt-related injuries. Advanced Seatbelts Spartan offers flat, 5″, 10″, 20″, and 24″ raised roof options that are reinforced with C-channel supports. As well as multiple seating configurations to provide your crew with extended legroom, improved visibility, additional storage and provides extra safety from triple-reinforced box front bulkhead, engine compartment, front and rear step assemblies. FEATURES

Custom Pump Panel Design Puts the department in control of the panel operations to ensure the placement is exactly right. Smart Step Compartment Access Incorporate a slide out step at the pump panel, rear, or side of body to create a safer work environment. High Angle of Approach This bumper gives you a high angle-of-approach for mobility options above and beyond the norm. Spartan One-Touch CAFS Allows for easy control and operation without manual processes or calculations. Once the pump is engaged and water is flowing, state-of-the-art electronics monitor components in a ready state. The system injects foam into the water and air into the appropriate discharge, sensing foam/water flow and eliminating slug flow. Smart Storage Optional storage around the wheel wells increases the amount of usable compartment space. Smart Storage compartments were designed to free up body compartment space and bring equipment to a more usable height. Custom Cab Storage Customize the interior of your Spartan cab to create a work environment that meets your needs. SGO9 Auxiliary Power Unit – EMISSION-Reduction Technology Our exclusive SG-09 Green Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) is designed to handle the rigors of the fire service and reduces the operation of the chassis engine while providing all electrical and HVAC capabilities. Spartan’s 20k and 24k independent front suspensions provide superior cramp angles with full air suspension available with a range of tire sizes designed for easy service and maintenance.
